To add custom easel paintings in The Sims 2, simply locate the folder path in your game: EA Games/The Sims 2 Legacy/Paintings
. If you have a different version, this is the same folder whhere you would create a downloads folder. This is the dedicated directory where your custom images will be stored and later recognized by the easel interaction in-game. If the “Paintings” folder doesn’t exist yet, you can create it manually.
Find a JPG or PNG image you’d like your Sims to paint. For best performance and compatibility, keep the file size under 300KB—this helps the game load the artwork smoothly. Once your image meets the format and size guidelines, drag and drop it into the “Paintings” folder. The next time your Sim uses the easel, the game will pull from this collection to generate custom painting options.
